Inspiring the Next Generation of Somali Engineers at the Al Furaat Institute Career Fair

The Somali Society of Engineers (SSE) was honored to participate in the Al Furaat Institute Career Fair, where members of our Mentorship Committee had the opportunity to engage with students and introduce them to the exciting world of engineering and STEM.

Throughout the event, our mentors shared their personal educational and professional journeys, discussed the many disciplines within engineering, highlighted career opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, and encouraged students to pursue their ambitions with confidence. We believe that early exposure to STEM careers and access to relatable role models are essential to inspiring the next generation of Somali engineers.

A special thank you goes to our volunteer mentors, Mohamed Khadar, Dalmar Mahamoud, and Muneera Mohamoud

for generously giving their time, knowledge, and encouragement to students in our community. Their commitment to mentoring reflects the core mission of SSE, which is empowering future engineers through education, guidance, and service.

We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to the Al Furaat Institute for inviting the Somali Society of Engineers to be part of this wonderful event.
